Join a coastline or river cleanup team
Neighborhoods working together can make a huge difference in the health of our planet.  Our Save the Sound coastal cleanup program is a great way to get outside and get involved.

In 2008, 400,000 volunteers came together worldwide to clean up 6.8 million pounds of trash from the planet.  In Connecticut, 1,700 volunteers removed 15,000 pounds of trash from our shorelines!

Become a Cleanup Captain and put together your own team or join an established shoreline, canoe, kayak, or scuba team.

Habitat restoration in your back yard
Our habitat restoration program has great projects that could use boots on the ground. We remove invasive plant species that are choking native flora, protect disappearing dune grasses, and build fish ladders to help fish reach spawning sites.
