Livable Communities
Transportation, housing, education, and employment go hand in hand when it comes to developing sustainable, livable communities.
With three major thoroughfares, three heavily traveled rail lines, and a wide network of buses, Connecticut is in a position to improve its transportation infrastructure, reaching out to areas of the state that lack service and improving service elsewhere, while also developing bustling communities surrounding these major transit hubs.
CFE is working with state partners and advocacy organizations to bolster our transit service while also developing a plan to implement these communities that link transportation with mixed-use housing, employment opportunities, and educational institutions, incorporate environmentally friendly practices, and attract a younger demographic and new business to the state.
